This visualisation debuted on a 531x17 foot screen during Sundar's opening keynote for the 2015 Google I/O conference. The visualisation show 1 billion active Android users and the devices they use (coloured based on hardware specs).
All simulation and animation plays realtime in a browser using GPU shaders. The final piece was rendered out at high resolution for the enormous screen. This project was a collaboration between the Google Data Arts Team and Variable.
